For a place, a team, and a couple who fell in love with both.
When Chef Alessandro Arnetoli first arrived in Havelock with his wife Susana, it was meant to be a brief visit. But something about this little town – its pace, its people, the way the sunlight hits the Sounds, reminded them of home.
Not of Florence exactly, where Alessandro trained and worked for years, but of the slow beauty and close community they grew up with. So they stayed.
Together, they’ve brought a new chapter to Slip Inn: a restaurant that honours Alessandro’s Tuscan roots, reinterprets Mediterranean cuisine with local New Zealand ingredients and offers a dining experience that’s both relaxed and refined.
This is far from fast food and it isn’t a café. It’s a place to sit, share and savour. From the kitchen to the table, everything is made with purpose:
